Introduction to Urba Box
Urba Box is a self-storage facility located in Montélimar city centre, established in early 2025. The facility spans 280 m² across multiple rooms and houses 93 storage units, operating with 100% automation using Sedisto for access control. Its key differentiator is its downtown location, which provides access to a different customer base compared to competitors and it opened in early December 2025.
How has Kinnovis helped your business?
Mickael’s goal was clear: build a self storage business that could run almost entirely on its own.
“I wanted something as automated as possible,” Mickael explains. “Kinnovis manages billing, the website, bookings, Stripe payments and the connection with our access control. For me, it’s really the platform that makes the project possible. Everything is designed to make operators’ lives easier.”
Instead of juggling spreadsheets and manual follow‑ups, Urbabox runs a fully digital process. Customers book online, receive all the necessary information by email and their invoices and follow‑ups are handled automatically. This has drastically reduced the administrative workload and allowed Mickael to focus on marketing and growing the facility, rather than day‑to‑day paperwork.
Is there one feature you like the most?
For Urba Box, the interactive site map stands out.
“The map with all my boxes is great,” says Mickael. “With the colours, I can see at a glance what’s rented, what’s free and what’s blocked. If I need to make a change, I just click on the unit and adjust it. It’s super easy to use, even though I’m not a computer expert.”
This visual overview is especially important in a complex, multi‑room facility where the space is not a simple rectangle. As Urbabox fills up, the map makes it simple to track occupancy, adjust units when needed and manage changes as the layout evolves.
Beyond the map, weekly booking options, the built‑in task system and integrated Stripe payments are all features Mickael uses regularly. Tasks help ensure nothing is forgotten, while automation around invoicing and payments keeps the operation running smoothly in the background.
How did you find the onboarding experience?
Urba Box launched directly with Kinnovis, rather than migrating from another system. That made the onboarding straightforward.
“We opened with Kinnovis from day one,” says Mickael. “Everything went smoothly, without going too fast. Whenever I had questions, I got answers quickly.”
Along the way, support helped him discover additional configuration options, such as how to handle longer‑term commitments with monthly payments instead of asking new customers to pay several months upfront in one go.
What results have you seen so far?
Because Urba Box opened in early December, traditionally a quieter period for self storage, it is still early to measure the full revenue impact. However, automation is already delivering clear benefits.
“One of my first customers completed everything without ever calling me,” Mickael recalls. “I saw the booking email from Kinnovis and then watched on the cameras as the customer arrived and accessed the site. Everything was done by email, fully automated. That’s exactly what I wanted.”
The fully automated flow, from online booking to emails, invoices and follow‑ups, saves significant time on administration. Accounting is also simpler: the accountant can access Stripe directly and work from clear, well‑structured exports.
Who do you think would benefit from using Kinnovis?
For Mickael, Kinnovis is not just for urban sites like Urba Box.
